Infusion pumps and injection pumps are commonly used in clinical infusion auxiliary devices, which are mainly used for precision infusion of some special drugs and high-risk drugs. With the improvement of infusion safety awareness, the use of infusion pumps is becoming more and more popular, and it is one of the equipment that our nurses are exposed to more.
Infusion pump for emergency patients, critically ill patients, special patients, children to create favorable conditions, improve the efficiency of medical staff. However, such products in clinical use, such as unqualified product quality or improper clinical operation and nursing, may lead to abnormal infusion flow rate control, which will directly affect the safety and effectiveness of patients' medication, and should be paid attention to by relevant personnel.
Today, around the use of infusion pump, maintenance and maintenance precautions, let's take a look at what needs attention!
1. Operation and precautions in use:
Different brands, different types of injection pumps, infusion pumps, the operation method will be somewhat different. Before use, medical staff should first go through the training and explanation of relevant staff to understand the loading method of syringe/infusion set, the setting of relevant parameters, other more functional operations, alarm methods, etc., especially to understand the matters needing attention in the process of loading syringe/infusion set, so as to ensure correct operation.
Generally speaking, when the infusion pump works continuously for more than 24 hours, it should take about half a day off. After 6~8 hours of continuous infusion, pay attention to take out the pipeline in the pump, load the unsqueezed pipeline into the pump body and start again, so as to avoid the output error caused by the poor elasticity of the pipeline after long-term extrusion.
2. Environmental requirements for storage and use of equipment:
General product specifications will be clearly defined, the product can withstand the temperature, pressure, humidity and time limits. In addition, care should be taken to prevent liquids from entering the equipment. Different brands and models of infusion pumps have different waterproof levels, and the higher the level, the better the waterproof performance. At present, some domestic brands have achieved IPX3 level or above, such as infusion pumps produced by Qixi Medical, which can withstand the test of water injection on three sides and have no effect on the equipment. Even in the place of power socket, waterproof rubber rings have been made to greatly improve the waterproof performance of the equipment.
3. Daily cleaning
During use, try to keep it dry and clean. When the surface needs cleaning, you must first pull out the AC power plug and turn off the power supply (this step can be omitted if there is a waterproof setting at the power supply). Wipe the body with a moist clean cloth or a soft cloth stained with 75% alcohol. Do not flow liquid medicine or clean water into the pump. If there is liquid/water droplets splashing on the pump, it should be wiped with a dry cloth in time to prevent corrosion of the pump body or affect the normal operation of the pump.
When it comes to anti-corrosion, because the infusion pump is a device that often comes into contact with the liquid medicine, the cleaning and maintenance of the shell is very important, and it is inevitable to contact the cleaning agent and disinfectant in the cleaning and disinfection process, so the material selected for the shell of the equipment will also have a certain impact on the overall performance of the pump.
Ordinary infusion pump shell mostly use PC ABS material, long-term contact with liquid medicine, disinfectant, etc., easy to be corroded and cracked. In recent years, some manufacturers have adopted PBT, a material with superior corrosion resistance. Imported products such as Braun and domestic products such as 7-up medical infusion pumps are also made of PBT materials.
In the comparative test in the figure below, it can be seen that the corrosion resistance and stability of PBT material are far better than ordinary materials, which greatly improves the service life and safety of the equipment, and the cleaning and maintenance process is more convenient.
4. Disinfection and maintenance once a month:
According to the requirements of the product specification (different products can accept disinfection methods, such as disinfectant types, there will be some differences), the use of appropriate concentration of disinfectant, disinfection methods, at least once a month for cleaning and maintenance. (Note that heat/gas methods cannot be used to sterilize equipment.)
5. Check, calibrate and maintain once a year:
Calibrate according to the method required by the product manual; you can also send the pump back to the manufacturer or contact the manufacturer for on-site inspection and maintenance to maintain the accuracy of the equipment.
6. Safe use and maintenance of rechargeable batteries:
When not in use, the power switch should be cut off to avoid overcharging or overdischarging, and pay attention to maintaining a certain amount of electricity at all times; under suitable external conditions such as temperature and humidity, if the equipment is stored for more than 3 months, it is recommended to charge the equipment to avoid the built-in battery Self-discharge and scrap.
7. Use and maintenance of empty bottle alarm/drip speed sensor (applicable to infusion pump):
The empty bottle alarm/drop speed sensor senses the number of drops dripping from the infusion bag into the drip pot within a certain period of time to monitor the infusion speed/detect the empty bottle. When in use, it should be clamped above the liquid surface of the drip pot, keep it in a vertical direction, and avoid direct sunlight. In daily maintenance, attention should be paid to keep the gap of infrared emission and receiving port on the detection clamp clean, and there should be no dust and other things blocking (such as crystals after drying of liquid medicine).
8. Among the 1.1 drops of daily maintenance of instruments and equipment, the key significance lies in:
Effectively delay the service life of the instrument, improve the utilization rate and intact rate of the instrument, reduce the operating cost of the hospital, improve the efficiency of the hospital, and effectively reduce medical disputes.
